A construction worker on a Disneyland site in California died when a steel plate fell on him while he installed heating and cooling equipment.
The 38-year-old man, who has yet to be identified, worked at the Disneyland accommodation near the park in Anaheim in the early hours of Thursday morning when the steel plate suddenly fell and landed on him.
Emergency personnel were called to the employee's entrance to the park at Gate 7 on Ball Road around 3:19 pm, the fire brigade said.
The incident took place in a backstage section of the Disney site while other construction workers were on site.

The employee installed a heating, cooling, and ventilation system when the equipment hit a support beam and caused a steel plate to fall on him and hit him unconscious
He was beaten unconscious and suffered a cardiac arrest and later died in the hospital
Reportedly it was an external contractor working on the installation of a heating, cooling and ventilation system, according to CBS.
The worker installed pipes for the system in an 8-10 foot deep slot when the equipment hit a support beam and dropped a steel plate on him.
In the blow, the employee was beaten unconscious and he suffered a cardiac arrest.
He was withdrawn by an Urban Search and Rescue team and transported to a local trauma center with life-threatening injuries.
Anaheim Police Department Sgt. Daron Wyattt confirmed that the employee died soon after of his injuries, according to KTLA.

Disneyland has issued a statement in the light of the accident.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the incident.
