Jayden Daniels could be in line for a surprising start for the Washington Commanders on Sunday, despite having been battling a rib issue all week.
According to ESPN, “all signs” point to Daniels fighting through the pain barrier, although the organization will review him first thing Sunday before moving forward and playing him.
The publication quoted a team official as saying of the rookie quarterback: “He’s a tough guy.” He would want to play if his right leg was missing.
If Daniels plays, he will face fellow rookie quarterback Caleb Williams.
Williams went first in this year’s NFL Draft, while the Commanders selected Daniels second and it is Washington who enters Sunday’s game with a superior record.
