Jim Gaffigan has a stylish new look to match his recent Hollywood renaissance, which includes his hilarious role on SNL as vice presidential candidate Tim Walz.

The 58-year-old comedy legend, who recently ruffled feathers with a cheeky joke about Trump, revealed that he has lost a solid 50 pounds after hitting a personal high of 270.

“I feel good,” he said. People on Thursday. “I’m just grateful because it’s a better life.”

Gaffigan attributes the weight loss to Mounjaro, the brand name of tirzepatide, a diabetes medication that has also shown impressive weight loss results.

Although he was initially skeptical, he gave it a try.

But when he saw that the kilos were beginning to drop, he was quick to confront a lifelong struggle with weight.

He recalled his younger days when he “worked out twice a day just to stay thin and be able to eat,” but as the years went by, a slowing metabolism, knee problems and fatigue made it harder to stay in shape. .

Last year, Gaffigan’s doctor suggested weight-loss medications, and he didn’t hesitate to try them. ‘

‘I don’t mind; “I’ll try it,” he remembers saying, motivated by knee pain and low cholesterol.

Surprised by the stigma surrounding him, he decided to speak openly about his experience.

“It’s strange that people are reluctant to talk about it,” he said, adding that changing appearance or habits is not unusual, comparing it to people dying their hair blonde.

“I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it,” he jokes. “Whatever helps you get ahead.”

Gaffigan’s new stand-up special, The Skinny, premieres November 22 on Hulu and delves into his weight loss journey.

Gaffigan is now part of a growing group of celebrities who are turning to diabetes medications to help them lose weight.

Joining him is Bonnie Chapman, the 25-year-old daughter of Dog the Bounty Hunter, who recently shared her impressive 58-pound weight loss journey.

Bonnie revealed that in just 10 months she achieved her goal with tirzepatide, the same injectable semaglutide medication that Gaffigan used.

“I probably haven’t weighed this much since I was prepubescent,” Bonnie shared in an Instagram video, adding, “I’m so proud of how I got here.”
