A major police operation is underway in Melbourne’s CBD with one street closed and workers told to stay inside their offices.
The incident reportedly occurred on Collins Street, near Bendigo Bank, with armed police stationed outside.
The Bomb Squad has been called in and is focusing on a white hatchback.
Trams, traffic and the general public have been diverted from the area.
