The start of the 2024 college football season is just around the corner, and to prepare for the new College Football Playoff format, SI’s Dan Wetzel, Ross Dellenger and Pat Forde propose which teams could be surprise contenders to make the playoffs. They also look at what favorable path the fifth seed has in the playoffs, especially if given the opportunity to play a G5 opponent.
They also react to Jim Harbuagh’s response to the NOA leak for Michigan, Pittbull’s purchase of the naming rights to FIU’s football stadium, and Baylor coaches wearing T-shirts during training camp that say “We pay the players.” They close the show by listening to and laughing at Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s recent story about how he tried to play an elaborate prank on a dead bear cub.
