Manchester United and Brentford are waiting for a reply from Christian Eriksen about their contract offers once he returns from holiday.

The Dane has to choose between his current club and United, who have both offered him contracts, as his six-month contract with the Bees expires at the end of the month.

Eriksen, 30, went into cardiac arrest on the pitch while playing for Denmark at Euro 2020 in June 2021, and his contract with Inter Milan was terminated because players in Italy are not allowed to wear ICD devices.

But due to less strict rules in England, he returned to the sport, signing a short-term deal with the West London club in January and impressing in his 11 Premier League appearances this season, scoring one goal and helping Brentford avoid relegation.

With his contract expiring, interested clubs can sign him for free this summer, with United, former club Tottenham, West Ham and Everton among the clubs linked to his signature.

The chance to team up with new Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag, under whom he played at Ajax, and the chance to join their new era would be attractive, but his family is reportedly concerned about a move to the northwest from London.

Whichever club he chooses, it is believed that Eriksen will want regular first-team football to ensure a spot for Denmark at the World Cup in Qatar in November. Money isn’t considered his main concern either, which could be a boost for Brentford.
