CHRIS SUTTON: Including Jordan Henderson in the Euro 2020 roster would be a big risk for Gareth Southgate… while it’s hard to ignore Jack Grealish’s starting after another positive audition against Romania
England defeated Romania 1-0 in their final warm-up game ahead of their Euro 2020 opener with Croatia.
Marcus Rashford scored the only goal of the game from a penalty spot in a largely uneventful game with little drive on it.
However, there were several talking points to get out of the game with Jordan Henderson’s return to the squad and some impressive performances.
Sportsmails Chris Sutton has picked three key points to get out of Sunday’s friendly.

DUMB DEADLY IN THE AIR
Not everyone agrees that Dominic Calvert-Lewin deserved his call. Some thought Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins should have been included in the 26-man squad, or perhaps Leeds’ Patrick Bamford.
But Calvert-Lewin is the greatest jumper since ‘Sir’ Les Ferdinand. The Everton striker can beat anyone in the air.
Before he dropped out with a thigh injury, Gareth Southgate phoned Trent Alexander-Arnold, who, despite an indifferent season at Liverpool, finished as the player with the most crosses in the Premier League in 2020/21.
Imagine if Southgate thought the Merseyside combination could have come in handy. Alexander-Arnold’s injury was unfortunate, but there are still good riders left, such as Kieran Trippier or Luke Shaw.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin will cause serious problems for the defense with his amazing aerial skills
HENDERSON IS A SELECTION RISK
The last time Jordan Henderson kicked a ball for Liverpool was on February 20 against Everton. Yet he appeared here in an England shirt on the eve of a major tournament. Roy Keane was perfect.
He said on ITV that Henderson is clearly not fit enough if he cannot start a game against Romania before this European Championship.
You can see how high Southgate estimates the 30-year-old. But would it be right to use him in this tournament? I’m not so sure.
There are nations that will seize any rustiness, and right now Henderson is as rusty as they come. He represents a risk.

HARD TO IGNORE GREALISH
There may have been little riding on this game. But from Jack Grealish’s point of view, he had to see this as an audition to make it impossible to ignore him.
Managers have in the past presented players with challenges like this: “Go out and show me why I should start with you.”
Grealish did, making several mazy runs and winning the penalty that Marcus Rashford scored. Sheffield United won 293 fouls in the Premier League last season. Grealish single-handedly won 110.
He’s a tough customer, which is why opponents feel they have no choice but to take him down. The Aston Villa forward would feel at home on either side of Harry Kane, should Southgate decide to use him over Rashford or Phil Foden.
