Chilling doorbell camera footage shows the moment a woman was chased by a truck down a dark Denver street.

The video, now being used as part of a police investigation, shows the woman fleeing on foot while being chased by the man in the van on the city’s south side.

The chase occurred in front of several homes in a neighborhood off Interstate 225 and Yosemite Street, police said.

It happened last Friday, and one of the houses captured the anonymous woman walking frantically in the snow while the car followed closely behind her. When she catches up to him, she changes direction and both he and her car disappear into the night.

The Denver Police Department has since identified the situation as a case of domestic violence, and said they are still investigating it as both the woman and her partner remain anonymous.

Later that day, a domestic violence expert offered his opinion on what he believed had been happening.

“Healthy relationships stop short of trying to hit your partner with a car,” Franklin Erickson, of the domestic violence survivor support group The Initiative, said of the video, which lasts just a few seconds.

“It’s very clearly a situation where this person needs help,” he continued, speaking to local media. fox 31. “It’s very clearly a situation where their safety is in jeopardy.”

Police proceeded to offer their own explanation for the woman’s ordeal, revealing on Friday that the woman had been The invisible driver forced him into the truck, but he managed to escape.

Police said she was chased by the man driving the truck, but eventually escaped.

Meanwhile, the man was arrested the next day, agents confirmed, without charges being filed.

His identity, as well as that of the alleged victim, remains unknown, although Erickson on Friday provided information about what may have preceded the interaction.

“These kinds of things start with verbal abuse,” he said, before pointing to control – the urgent need to know – as another possible trigger.

“Your partner’s exact location at all times, checking their phone,” Erickson said.

He went on to add that abuse can sometimes be followed – or preceded – by actions of affection or remorse on the part of the abuser, which should be taken with caution, he warned.

“[Such treatment will only continue] “Until the next incident,” he advised, “where that behavior may escalate.”

As of Sunday morning, the woman’s current condition and identity have not yet been revealed.

The same goes for the alleged instigator, who is seen making a U-turn at one point to chase the victim.

The Denver Police Department is handling the case and its investigation, as of this writing, remains ongoing. DailyMail.com has contacted for comment.
