Chelsea owner Todd Boyle reportedly turned to friend and TV presenter James Corden for advice, before deciding to appoint Frank Lampard as caretaker manager until the end of the season.
Lampard’s sensational return to the Stamford Bridge dugout was confirmed on Thursday, after he was sacked by the club again in 2021.
The 44-year-old took over on an interim basis following the decision to sack Graham Potter last Sunday.

The TV star reportedly proposed to Lampard, with the pair becoming friends from the Sky show A League of Their Own.
