City are allowing Gabriel Jesus to make the move to Arsenal for an initial £45million and Sterling’s valuation is expected to be north of that figure and could be around £55million.
A formal offer is expected in the coming days as City’s roster reshuffle continues after a fourth title in five years. Chelsea have yet to agree personal terms with the England international, who is in the final 12 months of his £300,000-a-week contract.
It is believed Sterling’s desire to end a stellar seven-year stay with City was discussed with club management at the beginning of the month. City have given the attacker time to assess his options, with a likely exit being settled amicably.

Sterling’s arrival would be an important statement for Boehly and provide Tuchel with more firepower in attacking areas ahead of the new season, with Romelu Lukaku once again on loan to Inter Milan.
In addition to his prowess, Tuchel is believed to value the experience and leadership skills Sterling can bring to his Chelsea side.
The departure of Antonio Rudiger left Chelsea in a blow in that area and captain Cesar Azpilicueta could also follow.
Some sources think an opening bid is imminent, optimistic about the deal and believe all three sides are open to closing a move.
