Brendan Rodgers has warned Enzo Maresca that managing Leicester City cannot compare with the pressure of managing Chelsea.
Rodgers has worked for Chelsea and managed Leicester, and the Northern Irishman says Maresca must accept the magnitude of the challenge ahead.
“I was surprised Mauricio Pochettino left as you could see at the end what he was trying to do and the players were buying into it,” Rodgers, the Celtic manager, said ahead of his club’s game against Chelsea here last night.
“I was disappointed for him because he couldn’t continue his work. Enzo came in having done very, very well at Leicester but Chelsea is a totally different challenge. The expectation around Chelsea, to be one of the most successful clubs in the world, will always be there.

On Saturday, Mareca’s team suffered a sad 4-1 defeat against Celtic on their pre-season tour of America.
‘They have some fantastic players and I’m sure Enzo will do a great job there.
“Trying to convince players how you want to play is always the challenge. That’s the first task.”
