A new trailer for The Last Of Us season two shows Catherine O’Hara making her debut on the series.
The second season takes place five years after the first and sees Pedro Pascal, 49, and Bella Ramsey, 21, return to their roles as Joel Miller and Ellie Williams.
The trailer begins with a shot of 70-year-old Catherine setting a timer before sitting down with a cup in front of Joel (Pedro Pascal).
No details are known about Catherine’s role, but she appears to be playing a therapist who works with Joel.
The duo appears to be having a session when Catherine asks, “Do you want to get started or what?”

Joel seems impassive as he stares at her, silently, but she continues, her words narrating the rest of the trailer as flashes of what’s to come appear on the screen.
Viewers are shown a shot of Ellie walking towards a fortified city along with a sweet vision of her playing guitar with Joel.
“You can’t cure something unless you’re brave enough to say it out loud,” Catherine says as a flash of a blood-stained street sign appears.
Ellie is then shown playing the guitar while her new love interest, Dina (Isabela Merced), sits and watches.
“Say what you’re afraid to say,” Catherine adds.
“Say it out loud, no matter what it is, no matter how bad it is,” he continues.
‘What did you do?’ she asks.
Throughout Catherine’s words, viewers are shown glimpses of all the drama that will occur in season two, including a massive attack by the infected.
Little is known about Catherine’s role, but she appears to be playing a therapist who works with Joel.
Viewers are shown a shot of Ellie Williams (Bella Ramsey) walking towards a fortified city.
Viewers can also see her playing guitar with Joel.

A synopsis of the states of the second season, according to The Hollywood Reporter: “After five years of peace following the events of the first season, Joel and Ellie’s collective past catches up with them, leading them into conflict with each other and a world even more dangerous and unpredictable than the one they left behind.”
The Last of Us is based on the video game of the same name created by Neil Druckmann that debuted on PlayStation 3 in 2013.
The series takes place in a post-apocalyptic world 20 years after the end of modern civilization and follows survivor Joel, played by Pascal, who is hired to smuggle 14-year-old Ellie out of the quarantine zone.
A virus has infected humanity and caused a zombie outbreak.

The trailer for the second season was released on September 26, also known as ‘The Last Of Us Day’. That date is significant in the video game: it is the day the virus outbreak began.
O’Hara’s casting was confirmed in February, with HBO revealing that the star would play an “as yet undisclosed role” in the series.
The official word came after the Best in Show actress made an appearance on Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live and a fan asked her if the rumors she was joining the show were true.
Viewers also meet Ellie’s love interest, Dina (Isabela Merced).
He sits and watches Ellie play the guitar.

He also revealed a family connection to the show. “My son is a decorator on the show,” she shared with Cohen.
O’Hara is best known for her roles in the Christopher Guest films, the Home Alone franchise, Beetlejuice, and as Moira Rose on Schitt’s Creek.
The second season of The Last Us will premiere on Max next year.
