Thursday night’s explosive Summer House season 8 finale revealed how Lindsay Hubbard and Carl Radke’s engagement came to an end last year.
The two reality stars, Lindsay, 37, and Carl, 39, had intended to get married in November 2023 before Radke called off the wedding in late August.
Fans got to see it all unfold during the former couple’s breakup conversation in the series’ final episode.
Lindsay began the exchange by saying, “I don’t want to fight you.” It’s not productive, it doesn’t help either of us. Today I thought, “Oh, maybe Carl sees me asking questions as if he puts you down or thinks you’re not capable.” And then I thought: “But where does this come from?”
But after a summer full of friction, Carl confessed his desire to cancel his wedding plans.
Thursday night’s explosive Summer House season 8 finale revealed how Lindsay Hubbard and Carl Radke’s engagement ended last year.
The two reality stars, Lindsay, 37, and Carl, 39, had intended to get married in November 2023 before Radke called off the wedding in late August.
He cited Lindsay’s continued discouragement as she rejected her various career goals, such as acting and opening a sober bar.
“I’ve asked them to be a little more comforting, enthusiastic and positive compared to the interrogation,” he explained.
The television personality also highlighted his disconnection.
“I literally live with you in two different worlds,” he emphasized.
‘There is reality and then there is what you make reality. “You have a lot of talent for playing the victim,” she told his then fiancĂ©e.
Additionally, Carl also brought up the hurtful things Lindsay had said before their final conversation.
“Over and over again you ask me too much, you bully me, you call me a loser,” he listed.
‘You called me a bitch, you called me baby, mama’s boy: “run home to your parents.”‘
After a summer full of friction, Carl confessed his desire to cancel his wedding plans.
He then focused the speech on his journey toward sobriety, admitting that he believed Hubbard was supporting his downfall.
“I don’t think you trust me,” Carl continued.
‘I think you think I’m going to relapse. I think you want me to relapse. I think you want me to back off so you can control me even more,’ she unleashed.
The social media star added: “We keep provoking each other and I don’t want to live like that.”
‘We’re supposed to get married in two and a half months and I’m not ready to do it. I do not feel comfortable. “I’m hurt, I’m really unhappy and I don’t think our communication is going to improve.”
Lindsay responded: ‘Do you want me to fight for this relationship right now? I’m not going to beg you to be with me.
“This conversation no longer makes sense, you have made the decision clear.”
While she called her father to vent in another room of their New York apartment, Carl chatted with the producers.
Carl cited Lindsay’s continued discouragement when she rejected his various career goals, such as acting and opening a sober bar, as one of the reasons for the breakup.
In the episode, Radke mentioned his journey to sobriety and admitted that he believed Hubbard was supporting his downfall.
“I can hear your conversation,” he told someone off camera. ‘It’s like “suddenly.”
‘No, this is not so sudden. That’s the crazy part. She is blind to the things that have happened over the past year. Fight after fight after fight.’
“Even in this building we had a noise complaint because of our fights and she received an email from the owner,” he revealed.
He expressed that he felt like he was “always going to lose” to Lindsay. “She’s going to turn around and tell everyone that she was caught off guard, that she was caught off guard, and that I’m going to be the jerk again and my life is going to be canceled.” But she will be the fallen woman that everyone will feel sorry for.
Carl and Lindsay will face off again next week, on Thursday, June 6 at 9 pm at the Summer House reunion.
