The film, which won’t be released in theaters until May 23, is a prequel to the acclaimed 2015 box office hit Mad Max: Fury Road.
Creator George Miller has returned to direct the film, which is an origin story for the title character, played by Charlize Theron in the previous film.
Anya takes on the role of the younger Furiosa in the upcoming film, which takes place 15 to 20 years before the events of Mad Max: Fury Road, while Chris plays warlord leader Dementus.

While full reviews won’t be available until closer to the release date, early reactions to Furiosa from a wide range of film critics have been promising.
They praised George’s direction and universally praised Anya and Chris’ performances, with many commenting that the film was a worthy addition to the franchise.
George described the prequel as “a saga” that will be told over a 15-year period, which is very different from Fury Road, which lasted three days in its time period.
Filming for Furiosa took place in New South Wales, Australia, and began in June 2022 and wrapped in October.
Anya recently admitted that filming had been a very difficult experience for her and hinted at several challenges behind the scenes.
In an interview with New York Times This week she said: “I’ve never been more alone than making that movie.”
‘I don’t want to get too deep into this, but everything I thought was going to be easy turned out to be difficult. “As if I knew it was going to take the two years it took for the movie to come out to fix it.”

“I will never regret this experience, on so many different levels, but it is a very particular story.
