Though the Disney Channel alum has long maintained that she was discovered after placing third on the singing competition, The Next Miley Cyrus Project, in 2009, many social media users are pointing out that she likely had an advantage by being the niece of a voice acting legend.
Much to the surprise of the Internet, Carpenter’s famous relative also connects her to one of the most popular and profitable television franchises of all time.

While the duo hasn’t been publicly photographed together in years, the Emmy winner, 66, did take her niece to several premieres during her early childhood.
At the time, when Carpenter was just 12, Cartwright shared an adorable photo of them together, alongside Robin Williams, at a screening of Happy Feet 2 on Facebook.
Over the years, Cartwright, whose net worth is estimated to be over $60 million, has also publicly shared her support for Carpenter’s career and has attended several of her shows.
