An Egyptian schoolboy was reportedly tied to a wooden pole by his father and covered in honey to attract bees as punishment for theft.
The seven-year-old boy was reportedly subjected to the brutal sentence on May 25 after a neighbor accused him of theft in Egypt’s Qalyubia governorate.
A shocking photo shows the child, identified as Muhammad D, lying on the ground with his hands tied to a wooden post behind his back, while insects appeared to be swarming on his skin.

The 34-year-old father, whose name has not been released, has been arrested after he allegedly tied his young son to the wooden post and covered his skin with honey.
The man then allegedly placed Mohammed on the roof of their house, where he donned him swarms of mosquitoes and bees because of the sticky honey all over its body.
It is not known how long the child was on the roof.

Local media said Mohammed’s mother, 29, who was not named, was shocked to see her son’s punishment and sought help from a child rescue group.
The mother took photos of the brutal scene, which are now being used as evidence against the father.
Mohammed was found in a ‘deplorable’ condition after the alleged sentence by the authorities and he was checked by medical experts, who recorded the extent of his injuries.
There are no further reports of Muhammad’s condition.
Prosecutors from Qalyubia have been contacted following the mother’s request for help and have reportedly opened an investigation.
The mother who is now who was staying in another village, claimed the man would beat her repeatedly and look for new ways to torture their child, even depriving him of food and water for a long time, Al Arabiya said.
The suspect has been arrested by authorities, but it is unclear whether he has been formally charged.
The investigation is ongoing.
