A small plane with two people on board crashed near an elementary school shortly after takeoff.

The plane crashed near Terone Park on Garnet Street in Bossley Park, in Sydney’s west, at 2.30pm on Thursday.

Two people on board the plane were evaluated by paramedics at the scene and decided not to transport them to the hospital.

Mary Immaculate Catholic Elementary School is located next to the crash site.
