Border Security Forces Celebrate Holi At International Border

Jammu and Kashmir:

The Border Security Force (BSF) and Women Wing jawans smeared their fellow comrades with colors as they celebrated Holi at the International Border on Sunday.

Citizens also took part in the festivities on this occasion.

Earlier in the day, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh celebrated the festival of colors Holi with soldiers in Leh.

He was accompanied by Chief of Army Staff General Manoj Pande and General Officer Commanding Fire and Fury Corps Lieutenant General Rashim Bali.

Addressing jawans and other senior defense personnel, the Raksha Mantri said, “If Delhi is our national capital, Ladakh is a capital of valor and courage. Visiting all of you to celebrate Holi makes this one of the happiest moments for me. Siachen is not an ordinary country. It is an unwavering symbol of India’s sovereignty and resolve. It represents our national resolve,” he said.

“I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: it is our duty to take care of you, your children, your parents…your family. We are always ready to do that. I don’t need to tell you here not to tell you that with the same dedication with which you are working for this country by deploying your body and mind, our government is also working for the betterment of our armed forces,” Rajnath added.

The Defense Minister requested Army Chief Manoj Pande to establish a new tradition by telling the Air Chief and Navy Chief that whenever a festival takes place, they should inaugurate the festivities the day before with soldiers and armed forces personnel participating in the borders had been deployed and the country’s sovereignty despite serious setbacks.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted the country’s citizens on the eve of Holi on Sunday.

Holi, a festival celebrated with equal enthusiasm in the country and abroad, will be celebrated on Monday, March 25, this year.

The festival is preceded by a ritual of lighting bonfires called Holika Dahan, which means the burning of the demon Holika.

The festival is dedicated to Lord Krishna, who is believed to have spent a significant amount of time in the Braj region of Uttar Pradesh.

It not only replicates the spirit of Holi but also imitates the timeless love of Radha and Lord Krishna.
