Andrés Giménez is on the move.
The Toronto Blue Jays reached an agreement to trade Gimenez on Tuesday night, sources told Yahoo Sports’ Russell Dorsey. More details of the agreement are not yet known. It’s unclear what the Cleveland Guardians will receive in return.

Giménez, a three-time Gold Glove winner, has spent the last four seasons with the Guardians after starting the league with the New York Mets in 2020. Gimenez signed a seven-year, $106.5 million contract with the Guardians before the 2023 season that will take him through the 2030 season.

The Blue Jays’ deal with Giménez marked their second major signing of the afternoon. They reached a two-year, $15 million deal with right-hander Yimi Garcia earlier Tuesday. Garcia spent part of last season with Toronto, but was traded to the Seattle Mariners before the trade deadline in July. He finished the season on the disabled list with right elbow inflammation, but is expected to be healthy for the start of the 2025 season. Garcia had a 2.70 ERA in 29 appearances with the Blue Jays last season.
