She is the teenage phenomenon that keeps breaking records.

The American Billie Eilish, 18, is now the first female artist to score a British number one with a James Bond theme song.

The singer-songwriter was at the top of the Official Singles Chart yesterday with No Time To Die, which can be seen in the upcoming 007 film of the same name.

British singer Sam Smith, 27, is the only other artist to win a British number one with a Bond theme, after taking the top position in 2015 with Writing’s On The Wall by Specter.

Miss Eilish’s number has sold 90,000 tickets last week and collected 10.6 million online streams.

It surpassed Smith’s Bond track, which achieved nearly 70,000 ticket sales, and Adele’s Skyfall, which moved 84,000 copies in 2012.

She performed live for the first time on Tuesday at the Brit Awards, where she won Best International Female.

Miss Eilish recently revealed that she had to get the thumb up of 007 star Daniel Craig before releasing the song.

She told BBC Breakfast: “He has a big voice in it. We learned from that. He is really involved.

“We didn’t meet him, but he must like it before they continue.”

Her brother Finneas O’Connell, 22, who co-wrote the song, added, “If Daniel doesn’t like it, you won’t get the job.”

Official charts Martin Talbot said: “What a fantastic achievement this is for Billie Eilish, to set new standards for a whole new Bond number and to break the one billion dollar limit for audio streams in the UK.

‘Both performances in the week that she was one of the striking artists and winners at the 40th Brit Awards.

“She’s a superstar who clearly has a” license to win. ”
