Bill Maher says awake liberals have lost ‘perspective’ on ‘real oppression’

Real Time host Bill Maher chided “woke liberals” for complaining about America by teaching Americans what “real oppression” looks like on his Friday night show.

Maher criticized Americans for constantly complaining about how America is “so oppressed, sexist and homophobic” by emphasizing what his viewers should learn from Afghanistan.

“Seeing the shit in Afghanistan reminded me of all the conversations I’ve ever had with an immigrant, almost all of which – if we really start talking – have the notion of ‘Oh you people have no idea, all you do is to talk about your own country and keep your mouth shut, but if you knew about the country I come from, you’d stop on your own,” he said.

He said professors disagreeing with students and a former president denouncing a joke isn’t oppression and Americans should “ask their maid” about real oppression

He made comparisons to his own life when he “had two presidents behind me.”

Former President Donald Trump sued him for $5 million for a joke that compared him to an orangutan and former President George W. Bush’s press secretary Ari Fleischer told him to “see what they [comedians] said” during a press conference.

He admitted that these cases were not “pleasant,” but he was grateful to know that he would be safe throughout the experience.

He told his viewers: “Neither experience was pleasant, but I never had to worry about being dragged along until I’m dead behind a Toyota Tacoma. Have a little perspective on the things we’re crying about here.’

He mocked “woke liberals” because they were angry that their professor disagreed with them and that the only people living in this country without water “live in California” and the only ones starving are actors for a part.

He went on to list real-world issues where women could not leave their homes without a guardian’s permission because they would be harassed or in danger, and said people in Honduras and the Philippines were being killed at astronomical rates.

“I’m sorry your professor said something you didn’t like. That would not be a problem with the Taliban, because you are not allowed to go to school. In Saudi Arabia, adult women can be jailed for things we consider routine without the consent of a male guardian.

‘China will surround you if you have the wrong religion and put you in camps. More children work in Burkina Faso than at school. Only five percent of Burundians have electricity. The murder rate in Honduras is eight times higher than here. Inflation in Venezuela is 2,719 percent. The Philippines have killed 27,000 low-level drug dealers in the last five years, my old job,” he said.

‘In North Korea people are starving. The only people who starve here are doing it for a role and the only people who don’t have water live in California.

“If you think America is beyond repair, turn on the news or get a passport and buy a ticket from one of those vague airlines that puts its web address on the plane.”

Recently, Taliban leaders have told Afghan women to stay at home because “fighters are not trained to respect them” and before the terrorist organization overtook Kabul, women and their husbands and fathers rushed out to buy burqas to cover their entire bodies. cover, because it was a requirement last time they took over.

The Taliban recently tortured and killed Afghan TikTok comedian Nazar Mohammad, something that came close to home for Maher. It fueled fears among Afghan artists about the future of intolerance and handling of art and humor under the Taliban.

Footage of Afghan mothers handing their babies over barbed wire to troops at Kabul airport in hopes of getting them on evacuation flights have also flooded social media and news sites as desperate parents try to save their children from life among the group.

“There is a reason why Afghan mothers give their babies to us,” Maher said on his show. ‘And we must take it. Americans should now be taking Afghan refugees into their homes and into their neighborhoods.”

Maher claimed that Americans were not “the bad guys” and that the country was not “rotten” when troops were sent in 2001 to end oppression in Afghanistan.

“That doesn’t make us the bad guys, we’re not the bad guys. Oppression is the bad guy,” he said.

“Oppression is what we tried to stop in Afghanistan. We have failed, but any immigrant will tell you that we have largely succeeded here and yet the current thrush of the awakened ideology that America is rotten to the core, irredeemably racist from the moment it was founded, and so oppressive, sexist and homophobic that we can’t find a host for the Oscars or Jeopardy,’ he exclaimed.

‘Have you ever heard of honor killings? Public beheadings? Throwing gays off rooftops? Organized marriages for minors? State-sanctioned mistreatment of wives? Female genital mutilation? Getting married by capturing? Because we have.

‘What is the lesson of Afghanistan? Perhaps everyone from the giant dorm b****h-fest session that is the Internet should take a closer look at what real oppression looks like. Ask your girl, ask your Uber driver, ask the Asian woman who gives you a massage.”

“America may not be the land of your faculty lounge and Twitter dreams, but no one here tries to escape by hanging from a plane. No, we’re waiting until we’re on the plane to fight and that’s because they’ve shut down the drinks service!’
