Bill Maher criticized Kamala Harris for her Middle East policy after she called for an end to the war in Gaza.
The vice president told a trio of reporters from the National Association of Black Journalists on Tuesday that a ceasefire and hostage deal was needed in the war between Israel and Hamas.
Calling for a two-state solution to the Israel-Palestine conflict, he said the goal is to ensure that “Israelis have security and Palestinians have equal security, self-determination and dignity.”
The comedian condemned Harris for her stance, saying it’s not a real solution and that if she can’t offer a substantial plan she shouldn’t say anything on his show ‘Real Time.’
“I mean, everyone who talks about Israel today is talking nonsense,” Maher said. “I don’t want children to die. Who wants children to die? None of us want children to die. None of us want this war to continue, but it’s not addressing the problem itself.”
Bill Maher lashed out at Kamala Harris after she called for an end to the war in Gaza and told him to ‘shut up’
The Vice President said it is necessary to reach a ceasefire and an agreement on the taking of hostages in the war between Israel and Hamas.
“This is what Kamala Harris said this week about what we should do when the war is over: ‘Don’t reoccupy Gaza, don’t change the territorial lines in Gaza,’ and have the ability to have security in the region for all involved in a way that creates stability. I feel like if that’s what you have to say, don’t say anything. Just shut up.”
Her comments came after a recent poll found that Harris had driven support for Democrats among Jewish voters to the lowest level in more than three decades.
A new Pew Research Center poll shows that 65 percent of registered voters who are Jewish say they will cast their ballot in November for Harris, and 35 percent say they prefer Trump.
The Democrats’ 36-year low comes amid a raging war between Israel and the de facto Palestinian government run by Hamas terrorists.
On October 7, it will be one year since Hamas invaded Israel and killed 1,200 people, the largest single-day massacre of Jews since the Holocaust.
Harris, whose husband is Jewish, insists she will support America’s only ally in the Middle East, but Republicans are concerned that more liberal policies will embolden terrorists to continue the conflict with Israel.
“The problem is that one side wants a two-state solution, or at least has always wanted one. They are now a bit more right-wing, I mean Israel, but that is still their position,” Maher said.
Bill Maher joked about Laura Loomer’s “arranged relationship” with Donald Trump
‘One side never did it and still doesn’t. One side uses terrorism to achieve its goals. One side retaliates against terrorism. Another side is accused of genocide, but doesn’t do it. The other side would love to do it. People keep saying that Israel has the right to defend itself, but whatever Israel does, they oppose it.’
Last week, Maher mocked conservative provocateur Laura Loomer when she leveled her accusation that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are faking a relationship to sway voters.
“I think maybe Laura Loomer has an arranged relationship to influence the election because she is so close to Trump,” Maher said.
“He’s 31, he seems like her type… Who is Uncle Trump? Because I’ve already said he’s a nobody. He’s been a dog for too long. And he’s not Melania. I think we’ll get the answer this week.”
Loomer responded angrily on social media, denying any connection to Trump: “I should sue Bill Maher for defamation. This is unacceptable and a complete and blatant lie.”
