Sarah Jessica Parker slipped back into the iconic Vivienne Westwood wedding dress that Carrie Bradshaw wore when she was jilted by Mr Big as filming continued on And Just Like That… season two in NYC on Thursday.

The star styled the gown with teal gloves and a matching cape, while her tresses were worn in a bouffant updo.

Big fashion moment: Sarah Jessica Parker slipped back into the wedding dress that Carrie Bradshaw wore when she was jilted by Mr Big as filming continued on And Just Like That… season two in NYC on Thursday (pictured right in 2008’s SATC The Movie)

Giving a further nod to the bridal look, she swapped her original veil for a tulle hairnet as she walked down the street.

Big (played by Chris Noth) memorably jilted Carrie at the altar in the first SATC film, before having a change of heart and turning back to wed her.

Carrie then hit him with her bouquet of flowers and left him in the street.

The pair would eventually go on to wed at City Hall with Carrie wearing a simple white suit and  Manolo Blahnik’s silk Hangisi stilettos in royal blue.

Hello it’s me: The star recycled the iconic look for AJLT

Looking good: The star styled the gown with teal gloves and a matching cape, while her tresses were worn in a bouffant updo

Tweaked: Giving a further nod to the bridal look, she swapped her original veil for a tulle hairnet

Big was then killed off in the first episode of AJLT after suffering a heart attack on his Peloton bike, leaving Carrie a widow and getting back into the dating scene.

This comes after SJP was seen wearing a jaunty hat as she filmed earlier in the day – after Michael Patrick King previously refused to let her wear the headpiece in the first season finale.

The star was seen embracing co-star Kristin Davis (Charlotte York-Goldenblatt), 57. as she filmed in the lace adorned straw hat – a year after the headwear caused tensions between her and showrunner King, 68.

And Just Like That… The Documentary – which documented behind-the-scenes moments of the first season, saw SJP set her sights on a wide brim hat, branding it ‘weird and a wreck’.

On the street: The ensemble proved something of a lot to handle for SJP and her crew

It was planned for SJP to wear the hat with the season finale Oscar de la Renta Magnolia dress which Carrie wears to Jackie and Smoke’s wedding, as well as in a dream sequence in Paris – but King shut down the idea for use in multiple scenes.

The star wowed in a white lace Vivienne Westwood jumpsuit and platform heels as she posed up for some social media snaps captioned: ‘Redemption! What happened in Paris did not stay in Paris.’

Kristin wowed in a green and white floral dress with an A-line skirt, teamed with white heels as they filmed the dog walk scenes.

The scenes come more than a year after style queen SJP’s penchant for the hat was shut down by King.

Despite the hat being tended to by SJP’s hair stylist Serge Norman, King, who was branded a ‘hat hater’ by costume designers Molly Rogers and Danny Santiago, told the actress the hat could only be used for one scene as it shielded the actress’s face on camera.

King explained that he feared HBO executives asking him why they could not see her facial expressions in the show finale.

He said: ‘The idea that I had to take that hat off her was really uncomfortable. It was bad.  This is a bad situation,’ because now Sarah Jessica loves the hat. As she should. It was a phenomenal look — for one scene, but not for many.

‘So now I have to become the studio head. I have to become the monster, the guy who slams the door on the soufflé- pff!

The scene went ahead without the hat, which caused visible tension between SJP and King.

This comes after her latest outfit for And Just Like That… season two filming was slammed by fans pining for Carrie Bradshaw’s iconic style.

Charlotte’s back: Kristin wowed in a green and white floral dress with an A-line skirt, teamed with white heels as they filmed the dog walk scenes

The actress posed up in a pinstriped Marrakshi Life dress, a Vivienne Westwood teddy long coat, paired with blue boots from her own faux brand Duchessa Gardini, a grey fedora and a vintage Pierre Cardin bag  – with unimpressed fans declaring the star looked like a ‘fancy hobo’ in the outfit.

The wardrobe for the HBO Max show has come under serious scrutiny after fashion icon Patricia Fiel, who styled Sex And The City for its six seasons and the two movies, declined to return due to her work on Emily In Paris.

One fan commented: ‘Carrie did not dress like this in the series, in SATC. Whoever is dressing her for this new show, has a bigger budget and whole different look in mind. I don’t like it. She looks like a fancy hobo.

Another wrote: ‘I love Carrie Bradshaw, always have! I just watched the whole series and both movies and her style is STILL iconic.

‘However in the new series, her style is not that of an older Carrie Bradshaw. Please bring back Carrie’s iconic style!

Thinly-veiled: The star posed up for some social media snaps captioned: ‘Redemption! What happened in Paris did not stay in Paris’

A third typed: ‘We know her character is mid 50s and today’s mid 50s are super stylish! I respectfully beg of you… please style her up like her fans are waiting for

Another wrote: ‘I hate how Hollywood makes them feel like once you get older you cannot show skin. Yes you can like Sam did in the old Sex and The City!’

Others wrote ‘So covered up, it’s nice but I do miss Carrie with her short dresses and showing off her shoulders’ and ‘Who said that looked good?’

Some followers came out in support of the star, saying: ‘She’s always so fabulous. I LOVE HER! Gorgeous as usual’ and ‘OMG this look slayyyyysss.’

SJP stepped out in the outfit in NYC on Wednesday where she was seen nearly getting hit by a bike during one dramatic scene.

For her work on Sex And The City, Field was nominated for five Emmy Awards, winning one, and six Costume Designers Guild Awards, with four wins.

She went on to return as costume designer for the Sex And The City movie (2008) and the sequel (2010), however she was unable to reprise her role for the reboot due to her Emily In Paris commitments.

Last month Patricia returned to the set to meet up with SATC and AJLT showrunner Michael Patrick King.

The fashion icon, 80, posed up with a chair bearing the show’s name – amid her continued friendship with SJP’s nemesis and ex co-star Kim Cattrall.

Patricia looked chic in a a black top, quirky green, yellow and red patterned trousers, and lime green brogues.

Patricia is known for her close friendship with ex SATC star Kim, 66, who played the iconic Samantha Jones, but exited the franchise acrimoniously due to her feud with Parker.

Patricia has publicly pledged her allegiance with Kim since the show ended, and in December last year, said she is interested in doing a series with her,

The two-time Emmy winner told Page Six: ‘I would love to do a show with [Kim].’

Fab four: Kim Cattrall starred as Samantha Jones in six series of the show from 1998-2004 as well as two movies (pictured with Cynthia Nixon as Miranda Hobbes, Kristin Davis as Charlotte York and SJP)
