Joe Biden has predicted that Donald Trump will reject a peaceful transfer of power if the 2024 race does not go his way.
Biden sat down with CBS’ Robert Costa for his first interview since dramatically dropping out of the presidential race on July 21.
The first clip to be released included Biden’s now-trademark mumbling.
“If Trump wins, I have no confidence at all. If Trump loses, I have no confidence at all,” the 81-year-old president replied when Costa asked him if he was confident there would be a peaceful transfer of power.
When Trump lost the 2020 election to Biden, he encouraged his supporters to march on the Capitol, where the Democrat’s victory was certified on January 6, 2021.

NOT AGAIN: When former President Donald Trump lost the 2020 election, he lied to his supporters and said he had won, encouraging them to march on the Capitol on Jan. 6.
Those supporters were involved in a brutal attack on the US Capitol that afternoon, leaving five people dead.
Trump lied and said widespread fraud cost him a second term.
“He’s serious, we don’t take him seriously,” Biden continued. “He’s serious, all that stuff about if we lose there’s going to be a bloodbath.”
Trump’s controversial “bloodbath” comment came against the backdrop of his remarks about the damage he says Biden has caused to the US auto industry by pushing electric car manufacturing.
Speaking to a crowd at a rally in Dayton, Ohio, earlier this year, Trump said that if he is not elected “it’s going to be a bloodbath for the country.”
Biden also pointed to some of the moves being made by pro-MAGA officials at the local level ahead of the November general election.
“Look at what they’re trying to do now in the local precincts where people are counting the votes. They’re putting people in positions in the states to count the votes, right?” Biden said sarcastically.
“You can’t love your country only when you win,” the president said.
The rest of Biden’s interview with Costa will air on CBS on Sunday morning.
That’s the same show where House Speaker Emeritus Nancy Pelosi sat down for an interview with Lesley Stahl last week and tried to play coy when asked if she was the person responsible for pressuring Biden to resign.
Biden’s interview with Costa also comes as Vice President Kamala Harris, now the Democratic nominee, faces increased pressure to conduct interviews.
He has been sporadically answering questions from reporters during his travels, but has not sat down for an on-the-record interview since Biden’s exit from the 2024 race.
