An Australia Post delivery driver has been sacked after dumping a package on the pavement outside the wrong address.

The postal service has apologized to the angry customer from Townsville, northern Queensland, whose package ended up at the wrong house last month.

To add insult to injury, the delivery driver sent the woman a photo of the package in a “safe place” on the road next to a patch of grass as proof that it had been delivered.

The furious woman took to social media to voice her call for Australia Post to “do better”.

“This is the ‘safe place’ where they left my package, at the wrong address,” she captioned the photo of her package.

He also complained to Australia Post, which took swift action and has since stated that the driver no longer works for them.

Others shared their own bad experiences with package delivery.

One recalled how his parcel was “left behind the rubbish bin”, even though there was a bin in his unit block.

In a similar story, last October, a woman named Heidi who lived on an 800-acre farm had to go on an unexpected and unwanted scavenger hunt when she was sent a photo of her package, which contained $100 worth of goods, under a tree in a supposed “safe place.”

But I had no idea where that “safe place” was.

“Thank you Australia Post,” he said in a TikTok post. ‘Just when I thought you guys couldn’t be any more stupid.

“Any sensible person, you would think, could probably drive down the driveway and leave it there.”

Heidi mocked the driver in her video post, guessing what was going through his mind.

“I’ll just come and pick up a tree and hope the owner finds it.”

Luckily, Heidi eventually found the package on a random tree stump on her huge property.
