The influencer added that whenever she breaks out, she simply likes to “remove” it with the wand, stating that if you do it the night before, your spot will disappear in the morning.

And, in the comments section of her post, many seemed to agree.

‘Totally underrated. High frequency is old school and it works! I remember wearing this in beauty school 30 years ago!’ one person wrote.

Another wrote: “It’s hard to agree.” They are incredible.’

So, is your secret to perfect skin real?

According to a New York-based dermatologist Dr. Navin S. Arora from Boeralis Dermatology, Lafata definitely could have gotten it right when it came to using a high-frequency wand to achieve a flawless complexion.

He explained that this was not a new concept, as many had used the wand for decades.

“High-frequency wands can be an effective tool to improve skin health, stimulate collagen production and combat acne,” Dr Arora told DailyMail.com.

He broke down how the wand works, explaining to DailyMail.com that the science “lies in its ability to generate electrical currents at high frequencies, typically around 100,000 cycles per second.”

As a result, the wand emits a gentle electrical current onto the skin, which can have great benefits.

“When it comes to combating pimples and breakouts, the antibacterial properties of the high-frequency wand play an important role,” said the dermatologist.

‘The electric current creates oxygen molecules that have an antibacterial effect on the skin.

“This can help kill acne-causing bacteria, reduce inflammation, and promote faster healing of breakouts.”

Dr. Maragarita Lolis, dermatologist at New Jersey’s Specialists in Skin Surgery and Laser, recommends using the tool on each area for approximately three to five minutes, one to three times a week.

When the wand is on certain areas of your face, you may feel a tingling sensation or some redness remain, Dr. Arora told DailyMail.com.

“It is essential to start with a low intensity and gradually increase it to avoid adverse reactions,” he said.

However, when using a high frequency wand on your face, it is imperative that you do it correctly to avoid unwanted side effects.

“Potential risks include skin irritation, redness and dryness,” Dr Lolis told DailyMail.com.

“People with sensitive skin, pacemakers or metal implants, as well as pregnant people, should avoid using high-frequency devices.”

She recommends speaking to a dermatologist or other skin care professional before using the wand, especially if you have underlying health or skin concerns.
