Declan Rice had the last laugh after a Tottenham fan hurled abuse at him while taking a corner… only for it to lead to Arsenal’s third goal on Sunday.

The Spurs fan was seen insulting the Arsenal midfielder but quickly headed towards the exit when Kai Havertz headed in the corner.

Rice made sure to give something back as he turned and celebrated in the direction of the fan before joining his teammates.

The Gunners survived a comeback from their biggest rivals to complete a north London derby double for the season and ensure they remain top of the Premier League table until at least next Saturday.

The match got off to a perfect start for Mikel Arteta’s side when Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg headed the ball into his own goal in the 15th minute.

The Gunners took a 3-0 lead before the break with Bukayo Saka producing a brilliant finish before Havertz’s header.

The home team responded with Cristian Romero taking advantage of a David Raya error before Son Heung-min scored from the penalty spot after Rice had conceded a penalty.

The visitors held on to keep the pressure on Manchester City, who did their job by beating Nottingham Forest later in the day.

“I think so,” the Spaniard replied when asked if Arsenal are better equipped to win the title this time around.

‘When you win, it’s always like that. Last season we didn’t do it because we went to West Ham and missed a penalty and against Liverpool we conceded in the 91st minute and then you’re not capable.

‘In the end, the sentence will be based on that result. If they got the goal in the last minute to make it 3-3 then we say “they wouldn’t have been prepared.”

‘The margins are very small. Don’t get carried away by yourself. We want to be better. There are margins for improvement. “Play again against Bournemouth because it’s going to be very tough.”
