Patrick Bamford has revealed that Ousmane Dembele is a ‘big fan’ of Leeds United and has asked for his shirts and Kalvin Phillips’s because he ‘watches every game’.
The Yorkshire club forward made the revelation on the Leeds United Podcast after teammate Ilan Meslier applied for Bamford’s jersey while on international duty with France.
Meslier, who is part of France’s Under 21 team, was asked by the £ 136 million star if he could get Bamford’s shirt – much to Bamford’s surprise.

‘Illan is a really funny guy,’ Bamford told LUTV’s Emma Jones, former Leeds striker Jermaine Beckford and actor Matthew Lewis on the podcast. ‘He actually has a present for me.
“After the Fulham game, he was like, ‘I need your shirt please”. I said “yes, it’s fine. For whom?” He said “Ah, Dembele”. I said “wait, who?” He said “the man from Barcelona”.
‘I was like,’ What, he wants my shirt? ‘ and he was like “yeah he wants yours and Kalvin’s shirts because he’s a big fan of Leeds and watches every game”.
‘I was like,’ You mean it? ‘ and I said “okay but you have to give me his shirt back”, so he FaceTimed me recently at midnight and showed me this Barcelona shirt that said “to my brother Bamford, from Dembele”. ‘

This is not the first time that Dembele has shown great interest in English football.
While away with France at the 2018 World Cup, Dembélé created an English club in the popular football simulator game ‘Football Manager’ and pledged to lead them to the glory of the Premier League.
And the forward isn’t the only superstar footballer to back the Yorkshire club.
Erling Haaland, whose father Alfg-Inge Haaland played for Leeds, was born in the city and had revealed in the past that his ‘dream’ is to win the Premier League at the club.
