Barcelona are ‘preparing a £43million offer for Robert Lewandowski’, with the Polish striker making no secret of his intention to leave Bayern Munich this summer.

After members of the Nou Camp club voted last week to ease the pressure on finances by selling some of their merchandising and television earnings, funds have been released to sign their No. 1 summer target.

33-year-old Lewandowski, who scored 50 goals in 46 appearances for Bayern last season, is looking for a new challenge after becoming disillusioned with his life at the Allianz Arena.

And Spanish newspaper Diario AS Report that Bayern will demand a premium prize for a highly regarded player who has one year left on his contract.

The German champions are also spending £35million to sign Liverpool forward Sadio Mane and must therefore replenish their own coffers.

Mane is expected in Munich for his medical early this week and will then be presented as a Bayern player, marking an evolution of the team that will take them beyond Lewandowski.

But the departure of a player who has scored 344 goals in 375 appearances for Bayern in eight seasons is unlikely to go down well with his supporters.

Last weekend it was reported that Lewandowski turned down the chance to go to Chelsea, suggesting that Barcelona is his destination of choice.

Last week, members of Barcelona voted to sell part of its retail arm, Barcelona Licensing and Merchandising by the club. [BLM]and a portion of his future TV rights revenue, to raise money to boost Xavi’s team this summer.

The sale of 49.9 percent of BLM was approved by 568 votes in favour, 65 against and 13 abstentions.

The sale of up to 25 percent of the TV rights for 25 years was given the green light by 494 voting members in favour, 62 against and again 13 abstentions.

President Joan Laporta said the deals could raise between £512 million and £598 million.
