Former President Barack Obama endorsed the post-vote debate on Monday, overturning President Donald Trump’s claim that it would lead to widespread fraud.
“Voting by mail shouldn’t be a partial problem, especially during a pandemic,” the ex-president wrote. “Everyone should be able to request a ballot in their absence and to have their vote heard at every election.”
Obama then linked to a National Public Radio article that the possibility of fraud was “such a small amount that it is not statistically meaningful.”
