An adult and a child are fighting for their lives after a three-car crash near Sydney Airport.

Emergency crews were called to the corner of Milperra Rd and Murray Jones Drive, near Bankstown Airfield, in western Sydney, about 7.45pm on Sunday night.

NSW Ambulance confirmed a man in his 50s and a primary school-aged boy were rushed to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.

Another man was taken to Liverpool Hospital in a non-critical condition.

The black sedan involved in the accident suffered devastating damage to the left rear passenger door.

A white pickup truck was seen nearby with damage to the front hood and bumper.

Images from the scene show the sedan’s rear left passenger door completely smashed and a ute showing damage to the bonnet and bumper.

A man surrounded by paramedics was seen being placed in the back of an ambulance with a brace around his neck.

Police were also at the scene of the horrific accident and were seen inspecting the demolished sedan that had been forced onto the curb and into a nature strip.

Both cars stopped just outside a shopping complex that includes a go-kart track and a badminton center.

Police prevented traffic from entering Murray Jones Drive and were diverting eastbound traffic along Milperra Road.
