Shocking images show the moment when beachgoers throw stones at a baby seal after the curious animal approaches them in Kazakhstan.
The brutal incident was filmed in the city of Aktau, located on the eastern shore of the Caspian Sea, and shared to social media yesterday.
The video shows a playful gray seal pup swimming off one of the city’s beaches, getting close to the shore before being overloaded with boulders and rocks.
An unnamed local resident made the video of the perpetrators, presumably tourists, laughing as they thoughtlessly pointed at the pup.

Kazakh model Yevgeniya Mukasheva then shared the video with her followers with the caption, “If an animal gets close to you, it means it trusts you.
“How can you throw stones at the defenseless puppy and laugh? Are you crazy ?! ”
In response to the incident, the Kazakh authorities voiced their disapproval and urged everyone to show respect for the environment.
Saken Dildakhmet, a spokesman for the Ministry of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources, said: “The way people acted in the video is outrageous and wild.

A man is seen holding a rock before throwing it at the little seal boy, who has approached the coast curiously
“Such an attitude can wreak havoc on the fauna of the Caspian Sea and adversely affect the behavior of these animals, which can become aggressive and attack humans.
“We ask you to show respect for nature.”
The seals are curious animals and often come to people, environmental authorities say.
The delirious pup does not know which way to go, as stones are thrown from the beach at high speed, one of which seems to hit the seal
Dildakhmet added, “The seal in the clip is young and playful. The seals are usually very friendly and curious sea mammals. We have to admire them. ‘
Reports of the animals biting swimmers in the same Mangistau region in June could have caused the people’s violent reaction in the video, reports NURKZ.
Several children and an adult were reportedly taken to hospital for a rabies shot after being bitten by the seals in the incidents last month.
