Australian Open Day Four: Live score and game-by-game updates as Novak Djokovic threatens to stop playing before sealing victory, as Jack Draper and Thanasi Kokkinakis prepare to go head-to-head

Follow Mail Sport’s live blog for the latest results and game-by-game updates as Novak Djokovic recovers after losing the first set to Jaime Faria. Ajla Tomjlanovic returns to face Diana Shnaider, Coco Gauff takes on Jodie Burrage and Jack Draper takes on Thanasi Kokkinakis at Melbourne Park.

Another cameraman falls!

It is the second time this week that a cameraman filming the players leaving the arena has fallen.

Earlier this week at Rod Laver Arena, a cameraman was filming Jannik Sinner’s entrance for his match against Nicolas Jarry, when the cameraman tripped and fell while walking backwards.

Well, before Tomljanovic’s match against Shnaider the same thing happened again: a cameraman tripped again on a mat on the John Cain Arena court while filming the Australian’s entrance.

Tomljanovic seemed a little surprised at the moment before helping the cameraman to his feet.

Luckily, it looks like the cameraman and his camera were okay after the fall!

Meanwhile, Tomljanovic is fighting hard here to stay in this first set, he is 5-4 down and has just saved two set points, forcing his opponent to make several errors to take the game back to two.

Novak Djokovic achieves victory… and breaks another record

Novak Djokovic has surpassed Roger Federer to have played the most Grand Slam singles matches in the Open Era.

But today’s victory was not entirely easy for the former world number one, as Djokovic again had a poor start to the match, losing the first set to Jaime Faria as he did in his first match against Nishesh Basavareddy earlier in week. .

The result means Djokovic is still on course to win his 11th Australian Open title and today played his 430th Grand Slam match, surpassing another tennis great, Federer, who managed 429 during his brilliant career.

We’ll hear more from Novak in a moment, but I want to quickly fill you in on a fun moment that just unfolded inside John Cain Arena…

Rain, rain, go away!

Very good afternoon to you! It’s a little cold and wet here at Melbourne Park today compared to yesterday and play on the outdoor courts was suspended twice today due to rain.

I’m currently sitting watching Australian star Ajla Tomljanovic inside the John Cain Arena and the atmosphere is building quite nicely with the organizers having closed the roof.

Tomljanovic is off to a good start in this one breaking her opponent, who is ranked 13th on the WTA tour, to take a 3-2 lead.

Elsewhere, we’ve got plenty of big showdowns coming up, with Coco Gauff set to take on Britain’s Jodie Burrage, while fellow Brit Jack Draper takes on Australian Thanasi Kokkinakis.

Stay tuned as we bring you the latest news, updates and talking points from Melbourne Park!
