An Australian mother has revealed the simple act she performed while looking after her children on an international flight that left her sick for almost a week.

Influencer Indy Clinton and her husband Ben Azar recently flew from Fiji to Australia with their three young children.

However, when one of the children’s pacifiers fell to the floor of the plane, Indy decided to “clean it with his mouth” before returning it to his son, according to his Instagram Stories.

The 27-year-old said she believes one action made her seriously ill.

“I fell (like dead),” the social media star wrote on Monday, before adding that she now had “fever and chills” for the “fifth night” in a row.

“Don’t clean your children’s pacifiers with your mouth when they fall on the floor of the plane,” Clinton advised her supporters.

He then joked that “the best thing I’ve ever caught on the floor of a plane is that I’ve lost my appetite.”

Clinton came under fire on social media earlier this week after posting a chaotic video of herself and her family on the plane on her TikTok account.

Clinton and her husband, Ben Azar, recently flew from Fiji to Australia with their three young children. However, when one of the children’s pacifiers fell to the floor of the plane, Indy decided to “clean it with his mouth.”

In the clip, the couple’s children can be seen climbing on them and making a lot of noise.

Indy also complained about his children dropping their pacifiers on the floor and lamented the size of the plane.

At one point, Ben was filmed walking barefoot down the hallway of the cabin while trying to rock one of his children to sleep.

Users took to Reddit to criticize the blogging mummy for her behavior.

“Is anyone else upset by her lack of respect and consideration for other people on a flight by allowing her annoying, loud, unhinged children to make a complete mess?” one complained.

“What a pain for all the passengers. She has air instead of a brain, it’s not like she dares to think about the frustrations of those around her. It frustrates me that they only watch the videos. She’s a selfish child.”

“The complaints about the size of the plane have gotten to me, it’s like Qantas has a personal vendetta against her and has sent their smallest plane. God forbid she has to fly on a full-size plane in economy,” read another reply.

“Wow, prayers for millionaire Indy for having to take a 5 hour flight, with the help of her husband, with the children she chose to have, from another paid trip to paradise. How will she recover? Is there any way we can donate? A Gofundme?” one said sarcastically.

“The father takes responsibility because he carries a kind of paternal guilt. As I said before, she is like a 14-year-old girl raising babies,” wrote another person.

Other Redditors were more understanding, insisting that flying with kids is difficult even in the best of times.

“Traveling with kids is hard. Most of the people on that flight had kids, I’m guessing most of them were doing the same,” one wrote.

While another replied: ‘I was on a flight recently with my son and there were a lot of other children and I can tell you right now that none of them behaved in that way.’

Meanwhile, comments on the original video warned Ben about walking barefoot on a plane.

“As a flight attendant, I highly recommend not walking around the plane barefoot. You don’t want to know there was stuff on the floor that wasn’t cleaned properly,” one follower said.

“Probably don’t give your kid a pacifier after it falls on the floor,” another fan responded.

“I love you all but I could never walk on a plane without shoes. So anxious!” wrote another follower.

Indy has over 1.9 million followers on TikTok and was crowned Australia’s TikTok Creator of the Year in 2024.

She shares three children with her husband Ben: three-year-old son Navy, one-year-old daughter Bambi, and eight-month-old daughter Soul.
