Australian shoppers are devastated after discovering one of their favourite biscuits has disappeared from supermarket shelves

Australian shoppers have been left devastated after discovering one of their favourite biscuits has disappeared from supermarket shelves.

Arnott’s Nice biscuits ($2.50) are the latest product to be hit by supply chain issues and have not been seen in Coles and Woolworths for months.

Although thousands of people feared the biscuits had been discontinued, FEMAIL can confirm they will soon be back on shelves.

“Our delicious Arnott’s Nice biscuits are experiencing a temporary delay in supply and should be back in stock in stores in the coming weeks,” an Arnott’s spokesperson said.

Shoppers have been venting their frustration online, with many demanding an exact date when the cookies will be available again.

Australians have been hit by a number of supply issues of late, with popular products such as banana Nesquik and Fantales also being pulled from stores.

“I’ve noticed there isn’t as much variety in biscuits as in my local Woolworths. All my favourites have disappeared from the shelves over the years,” said one online shopper.

“Such a thing should never happen in Australia when biscuits are made in Queensland,” one said.

Some recommended Aldi’s version of Nice biscuits as the “perfect substitute”.

Australians are also turning to Aldi for a version of one of the country’s best-loved sweets: Tim Tams.

Thousands of people have complained that Tim Tams now cost $5 for a standard pack of 11, and in some parts of Australia the price has risen to as high as $11.70.

Food lovers who are having trouble paying their grocery bills can turn to Aldi's Just Divine milk chocolate cookies, which will only set you back a reasonable $2.19 for 11 cookies.

The offering has received plenty of praise online, with mums across the country claiming Aldi’s knock-off is “even better” than Arnott’s snack.

“Whoever likes Tim Tams, but the Aldi version,” wrote one shopper on the popular Facebook group Aldi Mums. “They are so much better.”

“My partner finished a whole pack in one sitting while I was reading this,” said one Aldi fan. “They are so good.”

“I agree, the chocolate tastes much better in the Aldi version,” wrote a third.

Aldi’s version only comes in one flavour, while Tim Tams offers more options, including latte, salted caramel brownie, white chocolate and others.
