The uniforms that the Australian basketball team will wear on court during the Paris Olympics have not been well received by players, with superstar Josh Giddey calling them an “absolute joke.”
Photos of the uniform were posted on social media on Wednesday and players and fans were quick to react.
NBA player Josh Giddey wrote “lol absolute joke,” while Jock Landale commented: “Looks like we’re going to throw javelin.”
Former Boomers and NBA star Andrew Bogut suggested, “AOC had Stevie Wonder make the uniforms.”

Players manager Daniel Moldovan also had a scathing review of the uniforms.
“Let’s call a spade a spade: yet another embarrassment for a team full of NBA players at the top of their sport,” he said.
‘Our boys are going to be dressed like marathon runners. If the old adage of “Look good, feel good” has even a grain of truth to it, then our boys are going to feel like trash.
‘We are an international laughing stock. Whoever gave the green light to these marathon runner uniforms for Boomers should have their citizenship revoked.
‘What the fuck is this abomination?’
Boomer fans were also unimpressed by the design, calling it “ordinary” and looking like “Bali knockoffs.”
NBL star Alan Williams was shocked by the design and said they “couldn’t be real”.
Basketball journalist Benyam Kidane joked: ‘No, it’s disrespectful. Boomers will take home gold in the decathlon.
The Boomers’ Olympic campaign in Paris officially begins on July 27, and the team will also play warm-up matches against Japan, China, Serbia and the United States in the run-up to the Olympics.
