Australia make Olympics dreams come true as men’s rugby sevens team beat Samoa in Paris

Australia began its Olympic campaign in style when the men’s rugby sevens team defeated Samoa in Paris.

The opening ceremony will not take place until Friday but the men’s sevens competition is already underway as John Manenti’s side arrive at the Stade de France for their opening Group B match of the competition.

The Australians were caught out early on by an early try from the Samoans, but fought back with three tries and eventually closed out the game 21-14.
