Armie Hammer joked about being branded a ‘cannibal rapist’ in a bizarre podcast episode with his mother Dru.
The former Hollywood star, 38, was at the peak of fame when several women accused him of violent abuse and harboring cannibalism fantasies. Armie denied the allegations and faced no charges, but it was the end of his career.
Returning to the spotlight, the actor mocked the horrific accusations in a bizarre episode of his new Armie Hammer Time podcast, which featured his mother Dru.
Elaborating on the gruesome claims, Armie laughed as he recalled how “suddenly someone says, ‘He’s a cannibalistic rapist.'”
Dru then revealed that he had called his son when the allegations came to light and asked him: ‘Are there any women who are missing ribs or limbs?’ She said she later paid for him to have a vasectomy for his birthday to protect him from having unwanted children as a result of his infidelity.
Armie Hammer joked about being branded a ‘cannibal rapist’ in a bizarre podcast episode with his mother Dru on Monday.
Returning to the spotlight, the actor made light of the horrific allegations in a bizarre episode of his new Armie HammerTime podcast, which featured his mother Dru.
In February 2021, Armie’s ex-girlfriend, Effie Angelova, 26, accused him of “violently” raping and abusing her in 2017. He denied the rape allegations through his lawyer and said all of their sexual encounters were “fully consensual, discussed and “agreed upon in advance and mutually participatory.”
His then-wife Elizabeth Chambers separated from him in July 2020. The former couple share two young children, Harper, nine, and Ford, seven.
Defending her son on Monday’s podcast, Dru said: “If you had done anything about a rape allegation, you would have been caught, pardon the pun.”
But you were completely exonerated and we know why. It certainly helps when you’re an influencer and have dated Armie Hammer. I’m not stupid, I’m your mother.
“I mean it was like March or something where my name was the third most searched thing on the entire planet,” the Call Me By Your Name actor said.
“That’s never happened to me before in my career, it’s never happened.”
Laughing, Armie continued, “Then all of a sudden someone says, ‘He’s a cannibalistic rapist,’ and it was just like (explosion sound).”
Her mother responded, “I even called you once and said, ‘Okay, let me get this straight, are there any women who are missing ribs or limbs?'”

‘That’s what I want to know as a mother. Because end of conversation if ribs or limbs are missing.
‘But let’s be honest, I think you learned not to put stupid things in DMs because no one got eaten or raped. You were stupid.’
“Oh, I was definitely stupid,” Armie added.
Dru later revealed that after the fallout, he offered to pay for his son to get a vasectomy for his birthday.
“So let’s talk about what I got you this year for your birthday, the lady from church,” he said. ‘So I call Armie and say, “Armie, what would you like for your birthday this year?”
“And he said, ‘Oh, I don’t know, maybe money, whatever,’ and I said, ‘I think I’m going to give you a vasectomy.’
Armie continues: ‘Yes. So I go to a doctor’s office and say, “Yes, I’m here to schedule a vasectomy,” and they’re like, “Great, this is what you need,” all this paperwork, and I have a consultation with the doctor and he’s like, ” Are you sure you want to do this?”, so I say, “I have two beautiful children. I don’t want to have any more children. I’m ready to start.” They try to convince you not to do it.
He added: “I go up to the receptionist and she’s like, ‘Are you going to put this on insurance?’ and I’m like, ‘Oh, I don’t actually have insurance,’ and she’s like, ‘What?’ and I’m like, ‘What?’ I say “Yeah, I haven’t had insurance in years” and she says “Oh, okay, are you going to put it on a credit card?” and I say “Oh no, no, my credit cards don’t cover this, my.” mother will call you and she will pay for it.”
‘And she was looking down and said, “What?” and I say “Yes, my mother gave me this as a birthday present.”

“It was one of those things where you’d realize I was listening to something and you’d be like, ‘I’ve never heard… what are you talking about?'” So yeah, my mom gave me a vasectomy for my birthday.
Earlier this year, Armie revealed that he is grateful for the allegations of cannibalism and abuse that imploded his once-stellar acting career in Hollywood.
Speaking on the Painful Lessons podcast, the actor said of the scandal: “Whatever people said, whatever happened, I’m now in a place in my life where I’m grateful for every little thing.”
“In fact, I’m in a place now where I’m very grateful for it because the place I was in before all those things happened to me, I didn’t feel good, I never felt satisfied, I never had enough, I was never satisfied.” in a place where I was happy with myself where I had self-esteem.
‘I never knew how to give myself love. I never knew how to validate myself, but I had this job where I was able to get it from so many people that I never had to learn how to give it to myself.’
When accused of cannibalism, he added: ‘People called me a cannibal. Like I eat people! That???? Do you know what you have to do to be a cannibal? You have to eat people!’
He added of his fall: “It was the death of an ego, a career death.” A neutron bomb exploded in my life. It ended (everything)’.
