Ariana Grande had a pretty brutal response to a British radio host who tried to ask her about using dating apps several years ago.
In a resurfaced clip from a March 2016 interview, Ariana, who was recently nominated for an Oscar for her role in Wicked, could be seen chatting with Roman Kemp in the Capital FM studio in London when the conversation turned to Tinder.
At one point, Roman, now 31, apologized to the pop star, also 31, and told her, “My phone keeps ringing all the time,” to which Ariana responded, “It’s okay, you can take it.” “I’ll do it to you.” answer.’
Roman then told him: ‘Do you know what it is, and I’m not ashamed to say it, it’s Tinder,’ to which the Into You hitmaker replied: ‘Stop oh my God right now man?’ It’s like 9 in the morning! Dude!’
Laughing at his response, Roman said: ‘Mate, I know. But I’m not very good at it, well, I don’t think I’m very good at it. Have you ever used Tinder?
‘No, I haven’t!’ Ariana responded, before Roman claimed that fellow singer Meghan Trainor told him about a “Tinder celebrity,” to which Ariana responded: “I love her, that’s so funny.”
Handing her his phone, Roman invited her, “You can try my Tinder if you want,” while Ariana bluntly told him, “I’m not going to steal from these people,” but proceeded to pick up her phone. and started looking at the dating app.
At one point, Roman asked the brunette, ‘Would you ever hit me directly?’ but she clearly wasn’t expecting Ariana’s response when she told him, “I feel uncomfortable with this question.”

Roman Kemp seemed unimpressed after asking Ariana if she could “swipe right” for him on Tinder.
‘This is putting me in trouble, man. I don’t have Tinder,’ he revealed, before asking her: ‘Did I hurt your feelings? I’m too shy for this! Are you OK?’
“Yeah, I’m fine, I’m kidding you,” Roman laughed before quickly moving forward in the conversation.
It’s unclear if Ariana was actually single at the time of the interview, but she went public with her romance with Mac Miller months later, in September 2016.
The couple dated for almost two years before breaking up amicably in May 2018.
In September of that year, rapper Mac, whose real name was Malcolm James McCormick, died of an accidental overdose at the age of 26.
Following his death, Ariana posted a touching tribute on Instagram that read: “I adored you from the day I met you when I was 19 and I always will.”
‘I can’t believe you’re not here anymore. I really can’t understand it. We talked about this. So many times. I’m so angry, I’m so sad, I don’t know what to do. You were my best friend. For so long. Above anything else.
‘I’m so sorry I couldn’t fix or ease your pain. I really wanted to do it. The kindest, sweetest soul with demons he never deserved. I hope you’re okay now. Rest,” he added.
Ariana dated Mac Miller from 2016 to 2018, and sadly he died of an overdose that same year.
Ariana married Dalton Gomez in May 2021, but they separated in 2023 and their divorce was finalized in March 2024.
Ariana began dating Ethan Slater in 2023 when the couple met on the set of the movie Wicked.
Following her split from Mac, Ariana enjoyed a whirlwind romance with comedian Pete Davidson in 2018.
She began dating real estate agent Dalton Gomez in January 2020 and the couple married in May 2021 at their California home.
By February 2023, the couple had separated and simultaneously filed for divorce in September, citing “irreconcilable differences,” and their divorce was finalized in March 2024, at which time Ariana was dating her Wicked co-star Ethan Slater.
Ethan was married to his high school sweetheart, Lilly Jay, when he joined the production and met Ariana.
The actor, who welcomed his first child with Jay in 2022, filed for divorce in July 2023, five years after getting married.
Earlier this month, DailyMail.com revealed how Wicked bosses covered up Ariana and Ethan’s romance over fears it could have ruined the hit film.
Inside sources have claimed that the couple were instructed to “disappear for six months” in the hope that the backlash would calm down before the long-awaited musical hits theaters on November 22.
“When news of the relationship broke, studio executives were extremely concerned about how it would affect the film,” a source told DailyMail.com.
“They were feeling the pressure and Ariana and Ethan were instructed to disappear for six months, which they did.”
