Queen Mathilde of Belgium looked effortlessly sophisticated in a pantsuit as she traveled to an art exhibition in Liege today.
The royal, 51, traveled to the city to see the ‘The Worlds of Paul Delvaux’ exhibition at the La Boverie museum.
The exhibition has been held in honor of the late Belgian painter, who died in 1994, at the age of 96.
Mathilde put her best fashion foot forward for the event when she stepped out in a matching pastel periwinkle jacket and pants set.
The elegant ensemble featured a belt that hugged the queen’s waist, cinching her in and showing off her slender figure.
Mathilde highlighted her style prowess by matching her accessories to her outfit, sporting large, oversized shell-shaped drop earrings and a dark purple crocodile-print clutch.
She wore her golden locks down with a wavy blow-dry, however, snaps from the event show the queen’s hair looking quite disheveled as it appeared to be quite a windy day in Liege.
Mathilde opted for natural makeup, sporty eyeliner and mascara, but kept the base of her face relatively bare.

During the visit, the mother of four children shared a sweet moment with a little girl after she gave the queen a bouquet of white flowers.
And Mathilde couldn’t hide her joy, leaning down to greet the young royal fan, who seemed in high spirits as she met the royal.
She was also photographed shaking hands with the representative of the governor of Liège, Aurelie Royer, outside the venue.
The queen spent the day walking through the gallery, looking at the old paintings, which sparked an argument.
Mathilde had previously admired Delvaux’s work and visited another exhibition called Surrealism in Belgium organized in a Brussels gallery where another of her paintings was shown.
On Wednesday, the Belgian Royal Palace shared new portraits of Mathilde and her husband, King Philip, to commemorate the royal couple’s silver wedding anniversary.
The reigning duo put on a display of love as they strolled hand in hand through a picturesque garden.
The Palace wrote on its official Instagram page: ‘The King and Queen celebrate their silver wedding anniversary today. 25 years happily married and for many more!’

Mathilde looked typically elegant in an all-white ensemble, which included an ivory blouse with loose sleeves. She completed the elegant ensemble with a pair of pearl earrings.
Philippe looked equally dapper in a black suit and crisp white shirt as he gazed lovingly at his wife.
Philippe, then Crown Prince of Belgium, married Mathilde d’Udekem d’Acoz in a civil ceremony at Brussels City Hall and a religious ceremony at the city’s Cathedral of Saint Michel and Saint Gudule in December 1999.
On their wedding day, Philippe opted for a military uniform, while Mathilde wore an elegant ivory dress with a buttoned jacket.
In the 25 years since their wedding day, Philippe and Mathilde have had four children: Princess Elizabeth, 23, Prince Gabriel, 21, Prince Emmanuel, 19, and Princess Eléonore, 16.
Before announcing their engagement in 1999, Phillipe and Mathilde managed to keep their relationship a secret for three years.

Although reports have varied about how they met, Philippe previously said he “knew immediately” that Mathilde would be his “future wife” after seeing her “from afar.”
The Belgian queen, who was born into one of Belgium’s most respected noble families, earned a diploma with high honors in speech therapy and opened her own practice in Belgium when she was just 22 years old.
She then completed a master’s degree in psychology and continued her studies after marrying Prince Philip, heir to the Belgian throne, graduating with honors in 2002.
Mathilde is the eldest daughter of Count Patrick d’Udekem d’Acoz, former mayor of Villers-la-Bonne-Eau, and his wife Anne, a countess who fled Poland after World War II.
