Buatsi defeats Hutchinson by split decision to claim interim WBO light heavyweight title

I’m not sure how Hutchinson managed to get one of the judges on his side.

Buatsi seemed to have the upper hand for most of the fight and landed a couple of takedowns while his opponent was docked a point. His flurry of body shots was unstoppable.

By split decision (112-113, 117-108, 115-110), Buatsi remains undefeated and becomes the new WBO light heavyweight world champion.

Next up Hamzah Sheerez vs Tyler Denny.

When will Joshua and Dubois be out?

A quick reminder that we expect to see Joshua and Dubois emerge for their ring walks around 10 p.m.

That’s right, you don’t have to stay up all night like when the fights are in Saudi Arabia.

Hutchinson falls to the canvas AGAIN

Round 9. Buatsi lands hard shots to the body. Hutchinson’s dream of taking the vacant interim WBO light heavyweight title seems to be crumbling. But he keeps going. He’s a fighter.

Watch Eddie Hearn and Frank Warren PAINTING each other

It’s been a tough week at work and you’re looking for a way to relax.

Watching football doesn’t appeal to you. Meeting your friends at the bar doesn’t suit you. You start to panic. How can you save the week?

The only thing that can save you now is the content you least expected: Eddie Hearn and Frank Warren painting each other.

Mail Sport is fast becoming the home of serious boxing coverage, but there’s still room for the weird.

Oh, and they have a great debate too.

BUATSI HUTCINSON FLATS

Six rounds later, Hutchinson was knocked down after a series of sustained pressures from Buatsi. A body shot ended the win as Hutchinson clung to the ropes.

Buatsi is in top form and Hutchinson will have to weather a storm. Those blows to the torso have left him exhausted.

He also just lost a point in the seventh for entering using his head.

How Anthony Joshua recovered

It’s been quite a journey for Anthony Joshua, hasn’t it?

He looked depressed and defeated when he suffered that surprising loss to Andy Ruiz Jr and that double blow against Oleksandr Usyk.

He has since claimed four victories and now has 96,000 people waiting to see him challenge Dubois.

Sam Brookes tells us the story of his recovery from the pits.

Exclusive interview with Mail Sport by Daniel Dubois

Mail Sport was invited to watch Daniel Dubois train at the Farm Gym.

He talks about Oleksandr Usyk, doing push-ups for three hours and his father’s spicy Caribbean food. Dubois also sends a warning to Joshua ahead of Wembley after his “best training camp ever”.

OPINION: Hutchinson wins the ring walk

No offense to Buatsi, but I think Hutchinson has the advantage thanks to his ring walk.

It’s not often you hear a boxer come out dancing to medieval music, but that’s exactly what Hutchinson just did. The Scotsman just came out dancing a waltz to the tune of Braveheart.

I guess we’ll see how effective it was in cheering him up.

Anthony Cacace defeats Josh Warrington by unanimous decision

A comfortable victory for the current IBF and IBO super featherweight champion, Cacace, over Warrington.

After 12 gruelling rounds he won 118-110, 117-111, 117-111. No problem for him at the age of 35. Lennox Lewis has called him a “warrior” in that time – there are not many names in boxing taller than his.

Up next are Joshua Buatsi and Willy Hutchinson for the WBO interim light heavyweight title.

Tyson Fury’s prediction for Joshua vs Dubois

Tyson Fury has not been a coward in this case: he has put all his effort into supporting one of the fighters tonight.

You can find out who he is in the following article.

Tyson Fury is having fun with the crowd’s response

There was huge applause at Wembley when Tyson Fury’s face appeared on the screen moments ago.

But that cascade of cheers had been followed by a chorus of boos, because the crowd was not so enthusiastic about a certain Tommy Fury.

Tyson couldn’t help but find it amusing.

Liam Gallagher’s funny response when asked about his acting

Nowadays you wouldn’t have a boxing event without celebrity embellishment and one guy stealing the headlines this time around is Liam Gallagher.

The singer will perform three Oasis hits tonight: Rock ‘n’ Roll Star, Supersonic and Cigarettes and Alcohol (the latter not intended as a recommendation for a pre-fight diet).

And when asked about his mini-show, the singer had a funny response.

PS: Derek Chisora, fresh off a win over Joe Joyce, is in the mood, but who will be looking back in anger tonight?

Eddie Hearn swallows his pride when wearing the Arsenal shirt

Well done, Eddie Hearn.

He made a bet with Roman Kemp on the north London derby and lost as Arsenal emerged victorious against Spurs, so here’s the promoter keeping his word, wearing a Gunners shirt tonight.

As we speak – Cacace and Warrington trade blows

Tonight there will be many preliminary acts looking to make their mark in front of a massive audience.

Anthony Cacace and Josh Warrington are currently facing each other in the world super featherweight division.

The former fighter’s IBO belt is on the line tonight, but his IBF title is not.
