A woman stabbed her friend’s leg, went to her local bodega and served customers while holding the knife, then barricaded herself in a freight elevator, police say.

The bizarre incident began Monday night in New York City’s Upper East Side after the unnamed 23-year-old got into a fight with a 29-year-old woman in a mutual friend’s apartment.

She is said to have used the small ax she was filmed with to cut a gash on the older woman’s right shin.

The police have no motive for the attack, the charges are pending.

The crime comes amid a recent spike in violent crime in New York City.

With COVID restrictions being relaxed, the city is at a peak in murders, shootings and rape reports in the past month, the Daily news reports.

Between early March and April 4, NYPD reported a 95% peak in shootings, 60% peak in murders, and 54% peak in reported rapes.
