An American tourist has shared a video of her emotional reaction to seeing the Elizabeth Tower in London for the first time.
Macy Thompson, 24, from Texas, shared a video on TikTok of her seeing the city’s monument for the first time, where she is seen covering her mouth with her hands in shock and bursting into tears.
The Gen Z TikTok user then appeared to stumble to the ground as she expressed her excitement and shock at the mighty Westminster clock.
She captioned the video: ‘Nothing could have prepared me for this moment. Emotions took control.’
The 24-year-old from Dallas, Texas, was filmed by a group of friends who shared with her the emotional experience of her first time.

While the TikTok creator’s friends laughed at the dramatic reaction, passersby seemed unfazed as they watched the emotional event.
British viewers of the video were quick to flood the comments with funny situations in which they feel as emotional as Macy.
One wrote: “Me when I arrive in time for the yellow stickers at M&S,” while a second wrote “me if Spoons brought three plates for a tenner.”
Another joke: ‘When I ask my dad to send me £5 but he sends me £10’.
