Almost Half of Britons Consider Discussing Former Flame as the Worst Dating Gaffe – Dislike at the First Glance!

Date:

Dating missteps that end in hate at first sight! Talking about your ex is a guaranteed passion killer – almost half of Brits say their night was ruined after a potential partner sparked an ex-flame

  • Other missteps include poor table manners or dates that only speak for themselves
  • More than a quarter said dates looking at a mobile phone angered them
  • Lying about one’s age or lack of a sense of humor was a reflex

It may seem obvious that if you want the first date to be a good one, you shouldn’t be talking about your ex.

But a surprising number of insensitive souls seem to be doing just that.

Faux pas tops the list of foolproof passion killers when potential lovers measure each other up.

Nearly half (46 per cent) of single Brits said a potential partner had ruined the night – and any other opportunity – by sparking an ex-flame.

Almost 39 percent (39 percent) were turned off by poor table manners during a meal, while more than a third (35 percent) said someone who focused on talking about themselves and their lives proved to be a big mistake and spoiled the promises of the date.

Nearly half (46 per cent) of single Brits say a potential partner has ruined the night – and any chance of a second partner – by provoking an ex-flame, according to a survey by Sushi Daily.

These outrageous attempts are among the ten worst romantic encounters uncovered by researchers.

Fast food company Sushi Deli asked 2,000 adults in the UK what noise they experienced to reach their findings.

“It may not come as a surprise to learn that you’re on safer ground discussing the cuisine at the restaurant or pub you meet rather than talking about past partners or even yourself,” said Romy Miller, its global brand director.

She added, “Politics can be a minefield too – although poor table manners and rudeness to staff certainly seem to ruin any chance of a second date.”

Watching someone act rude or offhand with on-duty staff disqualified 31 percent of first daters, while being stuck with someone who spoke mouth full made 29 percent pull the drawbridge into any potential relationship.

More than a quarter (27 per cent) also said that those who looked at their mobile phones throughout the appointment angered them and made the meeting uncomfortable.

About 23 percent said it was a huge turn-off for someone not being able to receive a joke, and the same percentage claimed there was no way back if someone was clearly lying about their age.

Casually pulling food from the other person’s plate was also rated as a romantic “no” by 14 percent.

One of the main issues was the discussion of politics, with more than one in ten (nine per cent) saying the resulting conversation had become frosty and awkward.

A survey last August reported similar results — with two exceptions. Being late was a red flag for 17 percent in the CasinoGuardian survey.
