Ally McCoist couldn’t contain herself as she praised Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard’s “absolutely incredible” assist on Leandro Trossard’s first goal against Porto.
Trossard provided the decisive finishing touch to level the score in the second leg with a powerful cross over the goal, but it was Odegaard’s build-up that impressed McCoist most.
The legendary Scottish star praised the Gunners captain’s preparation and described the midfielder as a “genius” for his involvement.
Commenting on TNT Sports, McCoist smiled: ‘Odegaard, that’s absolutely incredible. The touch and finish is magnificent.
‘Absolute genius, look at this touch here. Once again inside, the weight of that pass takes it to the other side of Pepe and plays it inside the side, without taking anything away from the scorer.

Leandro Trossard scored the first goal of the game and Arsenal equalized the aggregate score.

In the goal, Odegaard produced exceptional skill as he initially passed the ball behind his supporting leg before shifting his weight to create space.
The 25-year-old then made a precise pass through Porto’s deep defense which Trossard ran past the goalkeeper.
Former Man United defender Rio Ferdinand also praised Odegaard’s chance creation and hailed the Arsenal star’s “vision”.
Speaking at half-time, Ferdinand rejoiced: “Fantastic goal, I think it’s the only time we’ve seen Odegaard face up on the edge of the Porto area.

Odegaard produced pinpoint precision and skill as he unlocked Porto’s deep defence.
