Alison Hammond has revealed the similarities between herself and the main character of her new book Bombshell, and has given her opinion on who she would like to play her and her love interest if it were ever made into a film.
The romantic comedy follows protagonist Madison, who has given up her own dreams to support her children and her TV heartthrob husband’s career, only for him to suddenly walk out on their marriage.
This Morning star Alison, 49, who co-wrote the novel with Lisa Bent, appears to have drawn on many personal experiences in her novel, including her relationship with Russian masseuse David Putman, 26.
She told the Radio Times: ‘There are similarities between Madison and me: she’s big, curvy, black, sassy and a mother.
‘But the main thing is that she is a bomb and so am I!

Alison, who co-wrote the novel, appears to have drawn on many personal experiences in her novel, including her relationship with 26-year-old Russian masseuse David Putman (seen together).
‘But seriously, some things in the book come from my life, others come from gossip. So what you read could have happened to me or a friend of mine, or it could have been a story I heard about someone I work with… you’ll never know!’
On who might play her in a film adaptation of the book, she added: ‘I actually thought Judi Love would be good. Maybe a little bit of Idris Elba as her husband…’
‘That’s a very good point. I mean, if they cast Idris, it will literally be ‘Goodbye, Judi Love.’ Sorry, I’m doing it.’ And then for Nathan (Madison’s new love interest), I’d like a young Colin Farrell or a Moulin Rouge-era Ewan McGregor.
Alison appears to have drawn on many personal experiences in her novel, and the character’s turbulent love life reflects many incidents of hers.
While Alison is currently in love with Russian masseuse David, she has admitted that her love life hasn’t always been so simple.
The This Morning star has been through her fair share of heartache, having been cheated on and suffered a failed engagement.
In the novel, Madison, like Alison, is no stranger to the television industry, and her husband works as a presenter.
Alison makes a clear reference to her own career in the opening chapter, saying that her husband works on a DIY show called House Mates, a nod to his time on Big Brother.
The romantic comedy follows Madison, who has given up her own dreams to support her children and her TV heartthrob husband’s career, only for him to leave their marriage.
In April this year, it was revealed that Alison’s new boyfriend was 6ft 10in Russian masseuse, model and dancer David, around 20 years her junior.
In more parallels, Madison comes from Jamaican descent and is mourning the loss of her mother Selina, who passed away from “rapidly progressing cancer.”
In reality, Alison’s beloved mother, Maria, tragically died in January 2020 after battling lung and liver cancer.
Another tie-in to Alison’s real life comes when Madison experiences a life-changing spa visit.
After being shocked that her husband abandoned her, a friend books her for a massage, where the masseuse helps her work through her emotions and meets a new friend, Savine.
Alison’s boyfriend David is a Russian masseuse whom she met after she booked him a £150 massage and the pair hit it off.
In the book, Madison forms a close bond with Savine, who becomes a confidant and voice of comfort as she works through her marital problems.
Alison has leaned on her true friends in times of distress, and it was previously reported that her This Morning co-star Holly Willoughby was “counseling” her when she split from landscape gardener Ben Hawkins last year.
In Bombshell, Madison believes her husband is cheating on her, but she doesn’t know how to use dating apps, so she asks her friend Savine to help her create a fake Tinder profile to try to catch him.
Alison has used Tinder before in her search for love, but confessed she didn’t know how to use it.
He previously admitted on This Morning: ‘Can I just say that when I went on the dating app Tinder? I really shouldn’t promote it, there are so many different dating apps, but basically, I was swiping in the wrong direction!
‘So I was swiping in the wrong direction. So I had all these people saying ‘I don’t like them!’ and they were all the people I said yes to. I just exited the app and thought, ‘I can’t do this!’
In the book, Madison discovers that her husband betrayed her by kissing another woman.
It’s an incident that happened to Alison, who revealed that before finding fame she struck up an affair with a man she met in Tunisia, called only Ben, only to discover that he had been unfaithful to her.
Alison’s longest relationship is believed to have been with taxi driver Noureddine Boufaied (pictured), whom she split from in 2014.
The couple got engaged in 2005, the same year they welcomed their son Aiden (pictured). They have remained on good terms.
In her autobiography she confessed: ‘My boyfriend was hugging and kissing another girl.
‘Even though I really loved Ben, I couldn’t go back. When you see your boyfriend kissing another person, and kissing him the same way he kisses you, it’s too disturbing. It was the end of our relationship.
