Looks like Noah Hawley’s Alien has found its heroine. FX has confirmed that Sydney Chandler will star in the secret FX project, which is set to go into production this year.
Little is known about Chandler’s role in the series, although she will most likely be playing a new character, as Hawley previously confirmed that the new series would not be a “Ripley Story”.
“She’s one of the greatest characters of all time,” Hawley said in a previous interview, “and I think the story is told perfectly, and I don’t want to mess with it.” Instead, Hawley said, the series will fall to the ground and be “a story about inequality”.
Sydney previously appeared in the FX limited series Pistol, and is set to appear alongside Colin Farrell in Sugar, an upcoming Apple TV series.
The Alien series is likely to be shown sometime in 2024.
