Aldi has launched applications for one lucky snack connoisseur’s job of a lifetime: becoming the supermarket chain’s official Crisp Taster.

The successful applicant will be rewarded with a selection of Aldi’s most popular crisps to try at home for free, including specially selected mature cheddar cheese and hand-cooked red onion, Snackrite Perfections Thai sweet chilli and Snackrite spicy Nibbley Nobblies.

Additionally, Crisp Taster will have the exclusive privilege of being the first to try new products before they hit shelves.

In return, Aldi requires Crisp Taster to provide detailed reviews, rating the crisps based on taste, crispiness and appearance.

These reviews will help guide the supermarket’s purchasing team in developing potential future flavors.

To be considered for what Aldi says is a spectacular opportunity, candidates must be at least 16 years old and submit a short video explaining why they should be the supermarket’s first Crisp Taster.

Entrants will need to email their video to aldicrisptaster@clarioncomms.co.uk, including their name, age, location and any social media handles.

They should also mention their favorite Aldi crisps and any opinions on unique snacks that might make them stand out. Full details and terms and conditions are available at Crisp Taster website.

Julie Ashfield, managing director of purchasing at Aldi UK, said: “What our shoppers think is very important to us.”

“It’s crucial that we listen to your honest feedback so we can ensure our products continue to deliver flavor while also offering unbeatable value.”

“Sales of snacks such as crisps and nuts soared by 40% during the 2022 World Cup, so we expect our crisps to be in high demand this summer with Euro 2024. What better time to find out what have to offer our most passionate snack fans?’

Applicants are encouraged to submit videos of less than one minute, including their favorite Aldi crisps and why they deserve the role of Crisp Taster.

The closing date for entries is 16 June and successful applicants will receive a selection of Aldi crisps the week between 17 June and 1 July.

It comes as Aldi delights its fans with the announcement of the long-awaited return of its fan-favourite crisps – Specially Selected Garlic Bread Crisps.

A 150g packet of this tasty snack will set customers back £1.15 and will hit shelves across the UK on May 19.

Returning for the second time this year after selling out at lightning speed in February, customers have been asking for the crisps to be a permanent fixture on Aldi shelves since their first launch in 2023.

Both delicious flavors are available as Specialbuys, so shoppers should act quickly to get a bag, as with all other Aldi Specialbuys, once they’re gone, they’re gone.

Comments on the product on the @aldishoppersuk Facebook page, praising the original flavour, have garnered many likes and comments.
