A giraffe calf ran through an enclosed area of a Texas sanctuary for the first time with its mother on March 31.
Highpoint Haven’s little giraffe named Finn appeared in a video from April 1 Posted by @geralds.life on TikTok yesterday.
Finn was born less than a month ago at Pilot Point Sanctuary and announced his name on March 20.
Sanctuary workers have posted several videos of Finn on their social media pages since he was born.
A baby giraffe named Finn emerged from a barn in Highpoint Haven in Texas for the first time on March 31. The sanctuary posted a video of the milestone on social media the next day.
Finn was born less than a month ago at the Pilot Point sanctuary and his name was selected by employees and his followers on social media later that month.
Finn was born on March 16 at 10:41 a.m. to another giraffe at the sanctuary named Harriet.
Highpoint Haven employees have been recording and posting videos of Finn and Harriet together on social media since the day after her birth.
Before calling him Finn, employees gave social media users the option of calling him Riley, Patrick or Maximillion.
Finn had a successful medical checkup at the sanctuary and explored Highpoint Haven Barn while staying close to Harriet.
The cute play-by-play video of the baby giraffe shared sweet interactions with his excited mother, Harriet.
Finn stayed close to Harriet but managed to enjoy the freedom of the outdoors at the end of the video.
His mother, Harriet, gave birth to him on March 16 at 10:41 in Highpoint Haven. Employees confirmed on social media that there were no complications during delivery.
Highpoint Haven employees have been recording and posting videos of Finn and Harriet together on social media since the day after her birth.
In fact, Finn’s mother left the barn without him last Sunday because she was “too excited,” according to a TikToker who provided the voiceover for the video.
The sanctuary employees, or as the TikToker called them the ‘human butlers,’ lured Harriet back to the barn with food.
Harriet then slowly walked back out of the barn after she hoped to chew on some leaves and twigs that an employee was holding.
Finn hurriedly followed his mother out of the barn, staying behind her most of the time.
The baby giraffe walked away from Harriet while she was eating, but he ran back to her just seconds later.
“I gave him a stern talking to and then we have a Lion King moment…” said the TikToker speaking on Finn’s behalf.
After spending some time running, Finn finally returned to the barn after a “pretty exhausting” day and was comforted by Harriet.
Other TikTokers who saw the video couldn’t help but write about Finn and congratulate him.
According to the TikToker who did the voiceover, Harriet left the barn before Finn and was lured by an employee who began feeding her.
TikTok users have congratulated Finn in the comments, with some of them praising the person who did the video’s voiceover and the Lion King reference.
‘I love Finn! His grumpy face is really the best, one TikToker wrote.
More than one TikTok user also praised the person who did the voiceover in the video, and one TikTok user joked about the Lion King reference.
‘Simba, everything that touches the farm will be your kingdom,’ the person wrote.
TikTokers who have seen Finn’s other videos have supported the baby giraffe in the comments section.
“Oh my god, I can’t believe he’s been here since day one. Live, laugh, I love Finn.”
