Adele revealed she had a six hour long conversation with her best friend James Corden after he broke down over ‘work’ and ‘the internet’.
The tearful singer, 34, hinted that the talk show host, 44, wasn’t happy with his life in America during Carpool Karaoke’s last ever engagement, admitting it made her feel “insecure.”
Despite The Late Late Show’s popularity, James has been no stranger to controversy – with his allegedly rude behavior called out last year by restaurant owner Keith McNally.
During the latter part of the iconic format, James explained, “It was the action stuff, the internet, all that stuff.”
Adele then responded: “It made me think, I felt so insecure, with your insecurities, because you’ve always been like your (adult), since I was 21.”
‘I felt insecure with your insecurities’: Adele reveals she once had a six-hour conversation with close friend James Corden after he broke down over ‘work’

good friends: The singer, 34, hinted that the talk show host, 44, wasn’t happy with his life in America during the last ever Carpool Karaoke, admitting it made her feel “insecure.”
Then I went into the studio two weeks later, and I wrote this and sang it into my phone and sent it to you and I remember you saying, “That’s exactly how I’ve been feeling.”
James interjected, “It was all I was feeling that day. I was moved by the way she was able to take everything I was feeling, and … life, and put it into verse.
In October, James was the subject of controversy when he was denied entry to Manhattan’s Balthazar restaurant by owner Keith McNally, who called James his “most nasty customer ever” for allegedly berating his staff.
Taking to Instagram to announce the ban, Keith — one of the most popular restaurateurs in all of New York — accused the comedian of engaging in rude and childish behavior on two separate occasions.
At first, James claimed hair was found in his food — and demanded free drinks to make up for it, according to McNally.
The second is about his wife, Julia, and the egg yolk omelette she ordered. Keith claimed that she was given a plate with egg whites in it, which angered James.
The final straw came shortly afterwards when another omelette was sent with a side of fries instead of salad, sending the star into a full-blown rage.
James later apologizes for his behavior and Keith has his ban lifted.

Emotions were running high: Adele then responded: “It made me think, ‘I felt insecure, with your insecurities, because you’ve always been like your (adult)’, since I was 21.”
Elsewhere in the Carpool Karaoke conversation, Adele first revealed that a verse in her song I Drink Wine was inspired by James, when he later turned to the singer for advice because he was going through a difficult time in his life.
“(The verse) was inspired by a conversation you and I had, and it was January 4th, 2020 or something, and we were on vacation with the kids…” Adele began.
Adele, who finalized her divorce from Simon in March 2021, two years after announcing their separation, revealed that she went on a family vacation with James, his wife Julia Carey, their three children and son Angelo, 10.
“And we were driving home and my mood changed and it was like the first year I felt I had to hold myself accountable, just being an adult, whereas the year before that I had left Simon, you and Jules and the kids were an integral part of taking care of me and Angelo,” she said. she said crying.
“You used to do it with a sense of humor too, you used to be like, ‘Good luck with that guy!'” With whatever kind of thing I was going for, and always have been, you were like an adult with me, you and Julia will always give me this advice.
Some of the songs they sang included the lines: “How did we both become clones of someone we don’t even like?
“We love the world, but the world only wants to bring us down, by putting ideas in our heads, that somehow corrupt our hearts.”
Holding back his tears, James called it “a privilege” that Adele was able to capture what he was feeling and put it into one of her songs.
However, the clip started on a much lighter note, when the Someone Like You singer played a prank on James by showing up at his home in Los Angeles.
Sneaking into his bedroom, Adele gave James a rude wake-up with smashing cymbals because she said she was going to drive him to work.
As they begin their journey to the CBS studios, James is seen in the passenger seat for a change as the two friends prepare to sing together.
However, things got off to a shaky start as the Tottenham-born star told James she got behind the wheel, adding, “I’m actually not a brilliant driver.”

a surprise! Adele is filmed planning to wake James up before driving him to work
After launching into a performance of her hit Rolling in the Deep, Adele confronts James in hysterics as she begins to ask him questions about Carpool Karaoke saying, “There were some bloody cool stuff, and some sexy ones too.”
Speaking of being the last of his escorts, James admitted he was “excited” and “scared” with Adele agreeing: “Yeah I bet.”
“I don’t know—it’s been eight crazy years, on the one hand, I feel like it went like this (fingers clicks) and on the other I feel like I can’t remember what life was like before I was here,” said James.
Adele then revealed how leaving James affects her personally. I never lived in LA without you guys, so I’m a little nervous about that.
The couple also reveals a story about how James tried to set up an elaborate prank to trick Adele into thinking a wild bear was loose in Beverly Hills.
But things get off to a rocky start when Adele arrives early and her assistant notices secret cameras in the room.
Despite going to great lengths to pull it off—including having Gayle King tape a satirical bear news report—James breaks it off when he sees Adele feeling uncomfortable.
Later, James talked about Adele’s “EGO” status now that she’s won an Emmy, Grammy, and Oscar — and she’d only need a Tony Award to win the prestige “EGOT” status.
“I don’t think that will ever happen,” Adele laughed.
I would never write a musical or anything like that… because I hate musicals. I also think EGO suits me better”
However, that doesn’t stop Adele from singing along to Barbra Streisand’s Don’t Rain on My Musical Parade from Funny Girl.
After another emotional lyric to Adele’s Hometown Glory, the pair begin to tear up again as Adele tells him: “You’re one of my best friends in the whole world.”
After wiping away her tears, Adele added: “I’m not ready to go back (to the UK) yet. Otherwise I would go back with you.”
